To design a system for optimum availability at minimum cost

Operational key success factors as total life-cycle cost, system reliability and optimum maintenance expenditure must be defined and designed into the product within the early product development phase in order to benefit during the product's operation phase.

Supportability Engineering (RAMSST) for complex systems and challenging operation environments

A holistic view on a 'system under development' is indispensable to gain the utmost level of supportability. Reliability (R), Availability (A), Maintainability (M), Safety (S), Security (S) and Testability (T), often referred to as RAMSST, are the fundamental supportability design disciplines for a modern, state-of-the-art system development process.

Upfront development investments will be numerously paid back during systems operational life-time. Our RAMSST engineers perform systems analyses across different industrial sectors such as commercial aerospace, defence, transportation, information technology and therefore ensure that products operate highly dependable and most cost-effective.

In order to minimize safety related risks during the life-cycle of a product the principles of Functional Safety as defined in the related standards, (e.g. SAE ARP 4754A, ISO 26262, IEC 61508) are applied. Please visit our dedicated Functional Safety section for further related information.

Maintenance Program Development and Maintenance Planning to minimise downtime

The MSG-3 system analysis methodology for maintenance program development of new aircrafts is a key activity of our Support Engineering division. Our well-experienced engineers positively influenced the maintenance design of today's most modern aircrafts such as Airbus A380, A400M, A350XWB and are one of the preferred partners for maintenance program and maintenance planning activities.

Aircraft diagnostics and Built-in Test Equipment (BITE) for precise troubleshooting

Excellent designed built-in test equipment is a major enabler for effective aircraft troubleshooting and resulting in maximum aircraft uptime. We achieve this with in-depth system knowledge and understanding. Exact fault isolation performance for effective line maintenance and quick LRU (line replaceable unit) identification is a key performance indicator for airlines.

Maturity Management for a successful entry into service

Reduced system development times require adequate test methods and means to ensure mature systems at entry into service. Our maturity project engineers apply the latest HALT/HASS test methodologies and act as supplier monitoring responsible for system integrators. Hands-on experience and overall system knowledge are our success factors in current aircraft development programs.

Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) needs more than just one expert

We provide engineering support for all modules of Integrated Logistic Support (ILS): supportability analyses such as reliability, safety, maintainability and testability analysis. Based on the results, the availability of the analysed systems can be determined and - if the preliminary results are already on hand in an early phase of the system engineering process - the system design can be optimized.

We support integration analyses like Logistic Support Analysis (LSA), Level of Repair Analysis (LORA) and Life-Cycle Cost (LCC) analysis. Our staff is familiar with all of the standard tools for the individual support integration analysis based on MIL-STD-1388 2B and others.
In addition we are also developing our own system support engineering tool for LSA (ASSET 3000), based on ASD S3000L and S4000M.

We also support elements required for the actual operation and maintenance in the in-service phase of the system. Kind and quantities of the individual elements such as training and training equipment, test equipment, spare parts, technical publications and manuals are determined based on the support integration analysis results.
